Expansion of an Inner Perspective
The artist imagines the interior of the stone as an organic entity. Two cubic cylinders support the whole structure, with five horizontal frames feature several columns in an intertwined and staggered arrangement. This internal arrangement shares a remarkable resemblance of a cell. For the original version of the work, viewers could actually walk into its center, and see the changes in light and shadow of the space as well as observe the interior space of the stone, and by doing so, the viewers integrate into the sculpture, becoming an extension of the stone itself. It is then the scientific definition of humans and stones, sentient and insentient, and spirit and substance are no longer as pronounced as they once were.
