The Diversified Faces of Earth
Hsien-Ming Chi’s uses sculpture to highlight a contrast amongst solid, liquid, and geometrical shapes. He frequently draws inspiration from natural compositions and biology, and enjoys creating works that establish a close interactive relationship with people. This work is comprised of groups of three pieces. Composed by matching the soft fluidity of water with geometric shapes of the earth, the plates tenaciously elaborate the space, and provide an interpretation of the complementary, limitless tension amongst the land, water, and life. This thriving scene alludes to how a constant force of rejuvenation exists amongst all worldly things. This work reveals how an idea finds a hidden image, forming an incomparable visual tension.
