Window No.210
The artist takes “window” as the names of a series of his stonework. The work combines the imagery of geometry and comparison as well as applies different surfaces of the basalt to create simple and powerful contrast of texture and high-low levels which remind viewers of the natural power in primitive religious rites. The work seems like a wall with a window in the middle part, and there is a side-relief stair below and an implicit sculptor stepping on the stair which leads viewers’ visions upward so as to express that no matter there is a bird flying in the sky, a cloud passing over or sounds of someone’s footsteps, looking out of a window symbolized hope or penetrating a spatial dimension could raise a fascinating imagination for exploring infinite possibilities of thinking.
