Introduction
The essence of art creation is the common problem with which author and audience entirely confront. Within scope of art creation, even though to relate or to elucidate, it is irreplaceable. In the process of creation, not only skills, materials and deliver way by author, but also its inner thinking and exterior expression are result of being selected by author; which becomes the essence of creation. It is not a natural representation or imitation of nature, but rather a production tracing from inner thinking and outer action of author. Thus it shall be more intense and more touching than original things. Criticism is, accordingly, exaggerated and direct.
Creation is out of individual objective behavior; however, because people live in community, there are the “concepts,” to which the ideas of creation are conveyed. Within scope of creations containing literature, music, photographing, painting and so on, those materials are simple and with less change. The materials of sculpture, comprehensively, encompass almost all sorts of materials; therefore, sculptural creations are full of infinite possibilities even though they are still indispensable in association with the “concepts”. The creation could be beautiful or pathetic; they could seriously explore life or play with life. How to make use of materials and to apply “concepts” is basic qualification of being a sculptor. Both of materials and space are the gifts from God. It is real that beauty of materials has better luster than sculptural creation. Therefore, the issue of similarity and dissimilarity does not exist within sculptural creation. Sculpture is a game of three-dimension and its beauty is changeable in terms of different light and perspectives. Though sculptures might be the lifeless objects, they could deliver sorts of feelings toward audiences by changing different environment. The essential points of sculpture lie in molding, requirement of its structure and representation of beauty; elucidation and explication are secondary.
