Stone Sculpture
Wings
Dynamic and static, seemingly in opposition, but, in reality, it is just two sides of the same coin. Through the static and stable nature of sculpture, this work explores the ambiguity of dynamism. Are the two wings that seem paused in midair soaring into the sky or preparing for a landing? The artist leaves the interpretation of his work to the viewer. At the same time, the work conveys another meaning. While viewers observe the work, they inadvertently project themselves onto it. Facing the wings is similar to facing life – whether to rise or land is a decision we make on our own.
