After the Rain
After the Rain depicts the image of a tree floating down a valley river and into the sea. This work is comprised of three parts: the serrated rectangle at the bottom, the slightly wavy layer of lithography in the middle, and the stone sculpture of tree branches placed at the top. By stacking layers of objects, the artist conveys three important natural features of Hualien, namely the high mountains, the flowing water, and trees. The lines and textures of the works echo in harmony with one another, bringing the rhythm of water and the feeling of wood. Viewers are presented with a simple landscape that is also full of stories.
