What is the origin of life? Mankind has pondered this question since the birth of consciousness. Here, the artist provides his answer: much like the theory of the Big Bang, life began as a condensed atom. This work portrays the birth of life and the universe at that moment of explosion. Though it no longer remained a complete circle, the imperfection ushered in new life. The interior and exterior of the semi-circle are simultaneously revealed. The rough and smooth textures of the stone reside symbiotically with one another amongst a coexistence of light and shadow. Life itself is both a constant tug of war and a compatible form of existence between conflict and harmony. At the same time, it conveys another concept: “Creation” is the origin of life for an artist. Through creation, the existence of the self is confirmed.
