Wings
47*18*28
Dynamic and static, seemingly in opposition, but, in reality, it is just one entity with two sides. Through the static and stable nature of sculpture, this work explores the ambiguity of dynamism. Are the two wings which seem paused in flight preparing to take off into the sky? Or, are they getting ready to land, close, and take a rest? The artist leaves the interpretation of his work to the viewer. At the same time, the work conveys another meaning. While viewers face and observe the work, they formlessly project themselves onto it. Facing the wings is similar to facing life – whether to rise or land is a decision we make on our own.
