Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

This work is inspired by an ancient legend in which a ladder links the worlds of heaven and hell. This is the Ladder to Heaven. In the form of a long ladder, this sculpture features a simple exterior that is carved with fine bas-reliefs. There are a total of twelve steps representing the twelve months. Furthermore, each of the twelve zodiac signs is carved in the space between the steps. This work combines mysterious Western colors with imaginative Eastern styles.
