Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

Diabase is a mafic subvolcanic rock. Its crystals are of many sizes, ranging from fine to medium in size. The color of the stone lies between dark gray and grayish black. Yet, it has does emit glitters of green. It is because of its subtle green color and hard to describe characteristics that attracted sculptor, Tsung-Hui Lin, to use this as his creative medium. Amidst a state of melancholy reside a glimmer of joy that loosens up the rigid and solemn nature of this stone, imbuing the sculpture with a sense of lightheartedness.
