Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

The bold and abstract geometric shapes combined with the realistic figure give the sculpture a graceful charm. The female figure of Tsung-Hui Lin’s work, Greet, is simplified and objectified, and does not feature the so called standard feminine curves. Yet, when looking at the work, one can sense that the body is gently bending forward. It is as if she is confidently and reassuringly making a gesture to welcoming the viewers. This work is graceful and resolute, and does not appear to flinch.
