Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

The sculptor use the variations in stone to create a work reminiscent of a landscape. The black granite laid flat features a wavy ripples that represents the waves of the Pacific Ocean. The triangular red granite is a representation of the land and mountains of Hualien. The black piece erect on the red stone is used to imbue the work a sense of balance. The work was inspired by the artist’s visit to Hualien’s seashore. The wave of the Pacific Ocean felt a deep impression with the artist and made him realize how wonderful it was to turn to his hometown.
