Stone Sculpture
One Dollar
60x60x40
A white stone work named “One Dollar” but actually invaluable has come into Hualien’s exhibition museum in the name of arts. What on earth would it confuse viewers? Such stonework experimentally tries to present an age that is pale, conservative and obsolete with the prototype of almost ready-made and found object. Among the various sculptural attempts to challenge traditional visual languages, whether this stonework could break through the heavy encirclement to switch on seemingly poised but bearing a strong conceptual impact like that of Tu Hsiang’s stonework “Fountain”, or the over-natural feature might be forgotten thoroughly?
