Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

The stonework “Glacis” has a three dimensional corrugation on the white marble base. While it is corrugated on the ramp, but it is smooth on the surface. The lateral carving traces are neat and rough like a terrain profile seemingly characterizing the terrain in Hualien which contains ups and downs, rises and falls. The artist wants to metaphorize the philosophy of real life by the section of terrain. Since in life experiences, there still might be tumbles occasionally even in the smooth land; while the undulating adversities are encountered, just slow down your steps; thereupon, whenever you experience tough and unfavorable things, you won’t feel confused and there would be a kind of gently and smoothly favorable circumstance for you to move on.
