Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

The work is disposed by thick and thin blocks to make the beauty of human body presented in the delicate texture of the stone material. In the structure, the existence of the arms is minimized to get rid of the interference, while the main part of the work is simplified as concisely as possible so as to emphasize the point of the figure’s texture and make the nature and the artificial vicissitudes reach maximal stability by minimal balance. The work leaves rougher chisels to highlight the naturally crystalline texture of stone material so as to set off the appearance of a massing been disposed artificially. The artist does not grudge retaining the ugly parts but grasps the key point of human-body dynamics and uses minimal mass to express the maximal effect that is the artist’s imperative skill and fundamental attitude of life.
