Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

The artist is proficient in using diagram-like miniature figure to shape the models of symbolic image. In this work, he tries to use the symbolized characteristics of Hualien residents to express the spirit of reclamation. It is a symmetrically mechanic figure, and under the figure, there is an undulance like sea waves or layers of mountains which represent the pioneers passing long voyage in the ocean, then, encountering steep cliffs and climbing up one after one high mountain when they came to reclaim the eastern land of Taiwan. While the simple styles of skirts and caps are one of the artist’s habitual practices which has integrated with the symbolic styles of aboriginal and modern residents’ dressings.
