Marine Story
300x300x100

The sculptor Wen Ching Tsai’s stone work “Marine Story” is carved mainly by black granite and red fossil. He tries to transform the scenery in Hualien into the work and emphasize the characteristics of Taiwan island and its distinctive oceanic culture and ecologic impression. The pedestal of the black granite symbolizes the lines inlaid by the deep and black ocean that presents the aerial photograph of the old Hualien harbor, while the pedestal is composed by four quarter rounds and the modeling of the red fossil seems like an island, but it also seems like an oceanic creature being evolved for thousands of years and just keeping moving forward in the waves constantly beating days and nights.
