Bumper Harvest Year
204x135x105
This is the earlier work of the artist which inspiration originated from the aboriginal Amis annual event: to tell the ancestral spirits the harvest of this year with gratitude. The work realistically depicts a standing young Amis man and a sitting young Amis woman who are adjusting their traditional clothes. In the detail description, the work shows that in order to attend the harvest festival, the Amis have to dress themselves up; therefore, the grand headdress and cap along with the sleeves and special accessories must be rigidly and correctly put on. The lower half of the two figures seems to rise from stone which is only sketchily carved out the bodies. The whole work presents a quick sketch-like style as if it has caught the instant look of the Amis man and woman in attending the harvest festival.
