Born in Kagoshima in 1973, Hidehiko graduated from Dept. of Sculpture of Musahino Art University, he kept on majoring in sculpture in graduate school of Okinawa Prefectural University of Art, where he becomes the lecturer at current.
Hidehiko had been invited to participate in Theme Exhibition of Hualien International Stone Sculpture Festival in 2001. It was the first time he applied Taiwan stone materials and also he applied white marble, specialty stone of Hualien. He was quite satisfied with the quality of Taiwan marble. During festival, he exchanged experiences with other artists, which left him a fair expression.
Hui-Lan Chang, the chief of Art Center in Kao Yuan University, said that she saw the artist dedicated to creation. She perceived that how the stone that was with irregular form was transformed, with the artist’s genius and subtle sculpturing skills, into tangible creation. It could help students to observe, learn and comprehend that: in Italian Renaissance, how the great artist, Michelangelo, devoted himself to sculpture, attempting to release the soul that be confined within the marble. Meanwhile, students may study it as well as the lessons of art history in class.
