Born in Hualien, Jhuo received fundamental training of stone sculpture from his mater, Jhuo-De Tsai, in Yun Gang Stone Sculpture factory. After taking military service, he worked in stone sculpture in Liou-Tong handicraft studio of stone sculpture, engaging in production of temple architectural ornaments and animal handicrafts.
From 1990 to 1991, working with Zong-Shih Lin, he promoted joint art exhibition of Hualien Country Stone Sculpture. Exhibition was held in Shuei-Yuan Di work studio in Taipei. Exhibition planners were the pioneers of Hualien Theme Exhibition of Stone Sculpture: Wum-Hjang Jhuo, Kuang-Hua Hsiang, Dan Kan, Hsien Wei, Cheng-Tuan Yang, Wue-Liang Yu.
In 1993, Jhuo, Chin-Tsung Lin and Kuang-Hua Hsiang established their studio,“Shuei-Yuan Di”, on Chien-Kao Road; their studio bridged the creation of stone sculpture in Hualien. Since the first Hualien outdoor workshop of international stone sculpture held in 1995, many creators came from worldwide and domestic or consigned to produce; where has become a window of local creation.
Jhuo creates for years, while in confrontation of all things in this universe, he believes that freedom and redemption exist in mind and life is transitory. He elucidates his idea of creation, all results from human mind; ease the mind, and treat life transcendentally.
