Introduction
Emanuela Camacci is born in Rome. She graduated from the Accademia delle Belle Arti of Rome and led an aesthetic quest into the depths of the private body world. The idea at the source of her works owes its origin to a very precise environment reflected into the completed form of the said works. Her project with works resulting from her quest and expressing dreamlike or real experiences instigating in those looking at them very strong feelings such as repulsion, embarrassment or tenderness. Her sculptures, made in stone, wood, terracotta or aluminium, or even in iron or fabrics, ""are representations of a different nature, degenerating, in metamorphosis. A nature which is sometimes grotesque, funny, strange, an outward expression of a spiritual difformity. Her sculptures present tender shapes, bodies different from birth and filled with animal life.""Emanuela Camacci realised sculptures as expressions of pain evoked by means of traces left on the body, like hair and tears, or drops of different origins, but still sign of a living body with a human or vegetal nature.
Emanuela Camacci has graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Roe, Italy.
She strives to explore the limites of various materials as stone, wood, clay and so on. Her skill at inerpreting the human, plant and animal form in an organic shape.
Born in Rome, the 20 of December 1968 Emanuela Camacci lives and works in Rome.
Accepted at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, she mastered her technique in sculpture, holed in the 1990.
She took part in several events in the world. Her sculptures are part of public and private collections. Relates to this events she said: aking part in theses events, offers me an exciting opportunity to create a piece of work designed for a specific space related and integrated to the environment it is destined to.
It is also an opportunity to have an exchange with other artists, to meet them and learn from their experience and, therefore, to mature professionally and personally through the discovery of a context culturally different from mine. In this sense, it represents an important opening to me from an artistic, intellectual and human perspective.
Artist Statement of Emanuela Camacci
Emanuella Camacci's Personal Statement. My desire is to challenge. There is no preference for methods and media. I strive to explore the limits of various materials. I realize works, expression of physical experiences, including humour and sensuality. My artworks as expression of imagery that provokes repulsion, humor, or embarrassment. I want to express, to face up the oniric aspect of the life, of the dreams. To express the biological cycle of the life, death and metamorphosis.
Works are often made of multiple parts which I develop as studio sketches. A final work is often made on-site and changes its location's meaning in relation also with the acceptance and/or questioning of the viewer.
