This sculpture consists of three slabs of white marble connected by a plastic body. The stone gear represents the course of the future. Using a gearbox and patterns of mechanical sensations, Francesco Mazzotta presents two windows that represent time, speed, and rhythm, as well as symbolize the past and future. Just like the course of humankind, the gears of time can only move forward. Through this approach, the artist contemplates what time leaves behind as humans live in a three-dimensional space.
