Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

Chuang-Yong Chiou uses the cutting, deconstruction, and remodeling techniques of stone crafting to create a collage of differently textured materials. Then, with works composed of black granite, he converts and transforms various postures for stone that are filled with a rich musical rhythm, like a poem invoking an elegant charm and extraordinary atmosphere. The artist attempts to extract a stone vocabulary filled with a contemporary humanistic spirit from classical ink landscape paintings.
