The sculptor Chuang-Yong Ciou has been working on sculpture creation more than twenty years and he always looks forward to creating a new language style different from traditional sculpture process culture. His ideas expressed on the stone painting and the material is the natural stone from Yili, Hualien. He takes the advantage of difference texture and shape of natural stones to make the 3D effect and create very unique stone painting.
In the beginning, the stone painting is not as good as expected due to lack of experience to use the limited material. Then he found there are many volcano stones in the river area in Yili when he walked by the river occasionally. After that, he continued to search for more stones which are suitable for stone painting and collected new material for his creation. After more than twenty years research, Chuang-Yong Ciou has made the stone painting full of many possibility successfully.
