Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

The mercy Bodhisattva ‘Guanyin’ is one of the important subjects to display art in traditional Chinese sculpture. Most Guanyin statues are made of white stone with a gracious smile and peaceful atmosphere. This piece has a nice looking oval face with long ears down to the shoulders and gentle eye-sight looking down. If you look farther details you will find a necklace of jade and pearls on the neck, a holy vase holding on the hand and making a pose to pour water, and the sleeves and long skirt are flowing with the soft wind. Each tiny detail is taken by the Artist without lost.
