Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

The artist is good at subtly maximizing the sculptural techniques of cutting, mosaicking, interlocking and carving on stone materials and integrating those skills to make up a unique style. The lower part of this stonework is a white three-dimensional object covered by black grids; then, the black part starts to flake off from the middle and outcrop the white main body of double-ten frame in upper half area. The construction and deconstruction of the body make viewers surprisingly find it’s like a weave with staggered lines, but the intersection of black and white makes up both whole and defect, completeness and incompletion, which shows that the true situation of the stone’s inner part seems to be construction and cracks. The dialectical paradox of thinking can’t be clarified, and only reconstructing it again can make viewers understand the context.
