Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

The artist grinds out white cloudy lines as those in Chinese ink-and-wash painting on the smooth surface of the big axe-shape stone, while it seems that there is water-like liquid flowing from the middle of the small stone and the stone material presents the symbol of plasticity. Those two stones have correspondent meanings as follows: the big axe-shape stone is like a highly erecting mountain as a background screen standing in the rear of the small stone and represents all the objective conditions for the occurrence of opportunity which refers to right time, favorable geographical and social conditions; while the small stone represents lucky chance. When the lucky chance is released and revealed like water spring and accords with all the external objective factors, then, it is the crucial time that things would be changed and it is what opportunity means.
