Flying
105*85*65

The artist chooses flying saucer as the model of this stonework. Under the bottom, there is a square base served as a foil to the nut-like olive-shape sphere with one quarter notch as if it is the passage way of the flying saucer, while there is a cone-shape on the notch which is a critical touch for the whole work and it is also like a buoy or might be an antenna for connecting with outside world. The communication with the ground has been combined ingeniously, seriously and humorously with indefinite childlike fun. The application of three different stone materials has increased the abundance of colors; the texture also gets the sense of multiple layers, while the slightly tilted saucer seems to be flying, and the contrast and difference generated by the buoy-like communicator also increases the visual effects.
