Hualien Stone Sculpture Museum

The artist’s series of modern stone sculptures emphasize the sense of soft and light quantity which is correspondent to the hard and heavy quality of stone material, and the purpose is to present the carving skills and difficulty. The work “Passion” is a model of mutual resistance but engendering each other, like the graceful posture and smooth lines of overlapping petals that convey the abundant inner emotion but keep neither friendly nor aloof. The two sides of front and back stuck together as by glue stand back to back and intermesh at the adjacent space, as if the love between a man and a woman that makes them get together, know and pity each other; while there is one part correspondent to the other one, but they are independent and have their own performance. The intersection has inspired the traction full of tension, but the hollow area is a different world.
