Stone Sculpture
Synergy
52x40x27
French artist, Yves Banchelin, combines the organic texture of minerals with his unique artistic style to form a synergetic creation that is both manmade and natural. Like this, the two opposite elements are no longer in deadlock with each other and are alienated only in an all natural modern experience, revealing the original guise of an intimate desire. Therefore, Banchelin does not use grand or figurative narratives to style the stone or his artwork. Rather, he provides a possibility for the viewers to interpret his sculptures, letting personal impressions and memories resonate with the artwork. The work, Synergie, reveals a tension between a human carved arch and a natural eroded crack, making the Creator, artist, and viewer part of artwork's endless cycle of birth and death.
