Lin said he is lucky, being on the way to stone sculpture creation. Except for the fact that he was selected for consecutive two years to participate in Hualien International Stone Sculpture Festival, he also has a good teacher as well as his whole family to support him. Lin’s teacher in university, Tung-Lieh Fan, not only inspired his interest for stone sculpture, but also helped him a lot in life. Lin said, “A good teacher is very important to students”, encountering Mr. Fan means even more to him.
Before he entered the world of sculpture, Tsung-Lung Lin didn’t like to go out and his only hobby was video games. After starting to create stone sculptures, he found a more pleasant and meaningful reason to go outdoors. The stones and the machines are both hard, but stone sculpture carving is easy as cutting tofu. Lin loves the noise during working, and the feeling when the machine penetrate into stones. It is an excitement, an evidence that he wins over stones again. Lin rejoices to walk on the road of stone sculpture, from which he has found his true self as well.
