Graduated from Fine Art Design Dept. of Yuli Senior High School, Peng took her initial professional training in a stone-carving factory. In order to participate in the 24th National Competence Competition, she became an apprentice in the studio of Li-Sian Hyu and she won the silver medal eight months later. She loves stone-carving for a simple reason that she may feel nature while she carves stones and their falling dusts are like the raining flower. A big and heavy stone becomes light and transparent after handmade work, so that she could not help but to fall in love with stone-creation.
Peng enjoys dim atmosphere at night, walking in the serene forest to perceive her inner meditation. In serenity, she may find the fluidity of life and she perceives that every stone has its own life. The sculptor peers the appearance of stone by hands, and the stone becomes the projection of the sculptor’s inner images. Before creation, she is not used to plan in advance, preferring to follow her own feeling. If she does not make a model beforehand, she follows her own feeling at that moment. Only by that will she express herself completely. Peng is obsessed with turning the images into the three-dimensional objects. Therefore, she admires the two: Andrei Tarkovsky, the Russian poet and film director, and Theodorors Angelopoulos, the Greek film director. She once created “Walking on the Earth” which was in memory of one friend. Because of this friend, she came often to hospital. Also, because of this opportunity, she changes her ideas of creation. She prefers the style with simplicity to complication. Everyone perceives a sense of feeling after watching her creations. She laughs and says, “Because of experiences! Thus, some has to change and to get insights.
