- Introduction

I had my first contact with sculpture while I had a short summer stay at Mijo Mijuskovic’s workshop in Niksic City in Montenegro. Niksic was also the city where my father was born. Mijo, a stone sculptor, usually watched me with his gentle eyes cutting small pieces of olive wood and walnut. When I was around 20, I realized the need to start learning sculpture as an apprentice. That was the beginning of a long period of training during which I had been to some activities that were more or less related to sculpture. I’ve been an assistant for sculptor Jack Vanarsky, taken part in a workshop for stage sets, done the restoration for historical stone monuments and taken courses for sculpture skills. Meanwhile, I studied drawing and how to make models. In 1998, I got a scholarship to study in Carrare, Italy. That was my first time to learn how to carve marble stones.I have settled down in Carrare since May in 2000. Part of my business is offering service for some local artists or sculpture workshops. (There is especially frequent collaboration with Studio Stagetti Workshop in Pietrasanta and Nicoli Workshop in Carrare.) In 2007, I began organizing training courses for sculpture. On the other hand, I continue with my own creation work. I make stone sculptures, marble sculptures, clay modeling and plaster modeling I have been regularly participating in stone sculpture symposia and collective exhibitions. Now I am in collaboration with many galleries in France and Italy to present my art works.
