2011, 27th November: in Palazzo Vecchio, Salone dei 500, he received the following prizes:- Prize to the Artistic Career in name of Elisabetta e Mariachiara CAsin Foundation- Prize of President of Senate ChamberIn 2011 he has been invited to the 54th Edition of Biennal Exhibition in Ven-ice,PadiglioneItalia, Sala Nervi, Torino.In 2012 in Borno (Brescia), he attended the 2nd Symposium of Wood Sculpture, where he got the first Prize.His artworks are included in important public and private collections in Italy and Abroad.

Piero Gensini was born in 1945 in Florence, where he now works and lives.He attended the Government Institute of Art in Florence, where he followed the Courses in Drawings of Onofrio Martinelli; then, he attended the Accademia of Belle Arti in Florence, under the guidelines of Emanuele Cavalli.He is a Member of Accademia delle arti del Disegno in Florence, Sculpture Class.He made several study trips abroad; he also lived in Paris, London, Amsterdam and Barcellona.It has been fundamental for his artistic career the knowldege of his friend and master Gualtiero Nativi, important exponent of classic astractism, who was a part of the Espace Group in Paris.Poliedric artist, after beginning his career as a painter, he has been mainly dedicated to sculpture, and he practised the constant use of drawings. He still makes studies and researches about the many aspects of working the materials as: maiolic, marble, wood, iron, steel and stone, making documents about several techniques, being keen to their specific potential.
