「石雕藝術的虛擬與實境」

藝術創作過程總先在藝術家的腦海經歷一番的虛擬想像與設計，然後再經實際操持製作，透過創作素材與藝術家的技藝將作品完成；石雕創作更是需要事先的虛擬想像與精準設計，才能在耗盡汗水與體力的辛勤創作過程，完美的掌握作品的每個細節而將之完成。本展希望將花蓮石雕藝術的發展現況與成就:石雕藝術之於公共空間、石雕藝術之於青壯世代、石雕藝術之於薪火相傳，透過策展理念的陳述傳達、展場的規劃、文物與作品的展示、大型石雕的模型重製與創作營雕刻現況網上直播，讓石雕藝術的虛擬與實境穿插展現帶你進入石雕家的異想世界與真實創作體驗。

花蓮，美麗的城市大隱於台灣的後山，現在你將透過本展神遊世界各城和花蓮全境數百件質優精緻的石雕作品，它們或以寫實的情懷、造形的變異、哲學的思辨、美學的演繹，或歌詠生命、描摹自然、隱喻情思、沉浸造形，這些靜默的作品始終誠摯地邀請您共同來感受大山大海所淬煉出的永恆藝術。

“Virtual Simulation and Actual Presentation in Stone Sculpture”

The process of artistic creation always starts from the artist coming up with imagination and design; then, by way of practical manipulating and operating through the materials and the artist’s workmanship, then a masterpiece is made. Stone sculpture creation especially needs previous virtual imagination and exact designing, so as to perfectly catch up with all the details and finish the work during the tough creating process with sweats and exhausted energy. By way of the exhibition, we hope the developmental status quo and achievement in Hualien’s stone sculpture art, including stone sculpture vs. public place, stone sculpture vs. middle-age & young generation and stone sculpture vs. inheritance, can be put online through the description and communication of the curatorial concepts, the layout of exhibitive site, the exhibition of cultural relics and artistic works, the rebuilding of huge stonework models and the pickup of artists carving in the outdoor workmanship camp on the spot, so as to make the virtual and the reality of stone carving art taken turns to show online and lead the audience to peep into the stone sculptors’ fantastic world and their real creating practices.

Hualien is a beautiful city hiding behind the mountains in Taiwan. Now, you can imaginarily travel and appreciate hundreds of stonework in various cities all over the world and the towns in Hualien by the exhibition. It seems that all the silent works are sincerely inviting you all along to feel the permanent arts tempered by the mountains and the sea, no matter the works are expressed by realistic sentiment, freak figuration, philosophic thinking and discerning, aesthetic deduction or glorifying life, replicating the nature, metaphorically speaking of affection or basking in shapes.
